LOUISE’S LOVE LETTER

EDITION 36:

Who Told Us We Needed Summer's Permission? ☀️

☀️ TODAY'S OBSERVATION

Apparently, summer has been quietly giving us permission to enjoy our own lives... and I have questions.

Who decided we need a season to remind us to laugh more?

To stay outside a little longer?

To call old friends?

To buy that Rocky Road ice cream you’ve been craving?

To watch sunsets like they're putting on a show just for us?

Summer has a funny way of convincing us that we're allowed to enjoy our own lives.

Which makes me wonder...

Who gave summer all that authority?

Hey, Friend

I've been thinking about something this week.

Why do we wait for summer to become the version of ourselves we seem to like most?

The one who laughs a little louder.

Sleeps a little better.

Actually uses the good patio furniture.

Orders dessert without negotiating like it’s a peace treaty.

Somewhere along the way, we decided joy was seasonal.

I'm not sure that's true.

Maybe summer doesn't change us at all.

Maybe it simply reminds us of someone we've been too busy to spend time with...ourselves.

💜 SUMMER'S LITTLE SECRET

Summer quietly gives us permission to...

o   slow down without feeling lazy.

o   sit on the porch for "just five minutes" that somehow become forty-five.

o   reconnect with people we genuinely enjoy.

o   buy flowers simply because they're pretty.

o   remember that not every good moment has to be earned.

Honestly?

I'm beginning to think summer is onto something.

💜 THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG

This week's blog explores why summer has a funny way of making everything—and everyone—look a little more compatible.

It's a lighthearted reminder that you can enjoy the magic of summer without checking your clarity at the beach.

💜 A LITTLE LOUISE LOGIC

Maybe joy was never meant to be seasonal.

Maybe summer just reminds us we were allowed to choose it all along.

☀️ YOUR SUMMER PERMISSION SLIP

This week, I officially give you permission to...

☐ Laugh until your stomach hurts.

☐ Read a chapter just because you want to.

☐ Sit outside with your coffee.

☐ Call someone who makes you smile.

☐ Stop waiting for "the right time."

(For the record, you never needed my permission.)

☀️ A QUICK REALITY CHECK (WITH A SMILE)

We've somehow convinced ourselves that eating dinner outside is a completely different experience than eating dinner inside.

It's the same chicken.

We still love it.

Maybe happiness isn't always about changing our lives.

Sometimes it's just about changing our perspective.

💜THE WELL MOMENT

Worthy: You don't have to earn permission to enjoy your own life.

Emotionally Available: Leave a little room in your schedule for joy—not just responsibilities.

Loving: Offer yourself the same kindness you so freely give everyone else.

Looking with Intention: Choose one small thing this week that makes your heart feel lighter.

💥 LOUISE'S TRUTH BOMB

Summer didn't create a new you.

It simply gave the real you a little more room to breathe.

💜 PASS IT ON

If this Love Letter reminded you to slow down, laugh a little more, or stop waiting for permission, forward it to a friend who could use the reminder, too.

Sometimes one small thought arrives at exactly the right time.

💜 CLOSING THOUGHT

Here's what I'm wishing for all of us this week:

More porch conversations.

More laughter.

More flowers on the kitchen table.

More sunsets.

More peace.

Less rushing.

Less waiting.

Less believing we need permission to enjoy the lives we're already living.

Because life isn't asking you to wait until next summer.

It's inviting you to show up today.

With love, laughter, and permission already granted,

Louise 💜
