LOUISE’S LOVE LETTER

EDITION 29:

If You Have to Explain It… 💬

Today’s observation:
The moment you feel the need to explain it…
is usually the moment you already understand it.

Hey, Friend

There’s a very specific shift that happens in dating.

It starts simple.

You’re just sharing.

A date.
A conversation.
A few details.

But somewhere along the way… the tone changes.

You add context.
Then a little clarification.
Then a “but to be fair…”

And suddenly, you’re no longer telling a story.

You’re explaining a situation.

✨ This Week on the Blog

💬 The Group Chat Knows Before You Do

This week’s post explores why the people around us often notice things we’re still trying to process.

Inside the post:

• Why your friends notice patterns faster,
• how we accidentally start defending what we felt,
• and the question that brings you back to your own clarity.

👉 Read the full post here: GO TO BLOG.

If you’ve ever needed three opinions to confirm something you already knew, this one will sound familiar.

A LITTLE LOUISE LOGIC 💬

If your explanation starts to sound like a character reference… your intuition has probably already tendered its resignation.

MINI QUIZ — QUICK SHARE OR FULL DEFENSE?

Be honest. No editing.

1. When you describe them, you find yourself saying:
A) “He’s great.”
B) “It was fun.”
C) “He’s just…”
D) “Okay, so let me explain.”

2. Your tone is mostly:
A) Light
B) Happy
C) Thoughtful
D) Slightly defensive

3. The story requires:
A) A few sentences
B) A brief recap
C) Some context
D) Background, clarification, and a follow-up

Mostly D?
That’s not overthinking. That’s your clarity trying to break through.

A QUICK REALITY CHECK (WITH A SMILE)

If it takes more energy to explain the connection than to enjoy it…

that’s information.

THE WELL MOMENT

Wisdom:
Clarity usually shows up before we’re ready to accept it.

Empathy:
Of course, you want to give things a fair shot — that’s a good thing.

Laughter:
If you’ve ever caught yourself mid-explanation and thought, “…why am I defending this?” — welcome.

Lesson:
The need to explain is often a signal, not the solution.

PASS IT ON 💬

If this newsletter made you pause or laugh in a slightly “okay, wow” kind of way, send it to a friend who has ever said, “No, no — it makes sense if I explain it.”

Closing Thought

You don’t need perfect clarity to notice that something feels off.

You just need to be honest about how much explaining it takes to make it feel okay.

Because the more you trust yourself…the less you feel the need to convince anyone, including yourself.

With love, clarity, and fewer explanations,
