LOUISE’S LOVE LETTER

EDITION 26:

The Dating “Oops” Files: April Fool’s Edition 💜

Today’s observation:
Some of us weren’t fooled by April 1st.
We were fooled by “mysterious energy” and good cheekbones.

Hey, Friend

In honor of April Fool’s Day, I think it’s only fair we acknowledge a universal dating truth:

Some red flags had incredible marketing.

What we called:

  • mysterious

  • spontaneous

  • passionate

  • “just different.”

was sometimes just:

  • vague

  • inconsistent

  • emotionally unavailable

  • and suspiciously good at eye contact

Honestly, some people didn’t need a relationship.
They needed a publicist.

✨ This Week on the Blog

April Fools’ in Dating: The Red Flags We Mistook for Personality

This week’s blog is a playful little reality check about the red flags we once dressed up as chemistry, intrigue, or “a vibe.”

Inside the post, we laugh about:

• the “mysterious” texter,
• the “spontaneous” vanisher,
• the “passionate” chaos creator,
• and why growth changes the labels.

👉 Read the full post here: GO TO BLOG.

If you’ve ever reflected on an old relationship and thought, Wow, I really managed to spin that behavior in a good light. This one’s for you.

A LITTLE LOUISE LOGIC💜

If your favorite thing about them was how hard they were to figure out…that may not have been chemistry.

That may have been an unpaid internship in emotional confusion.

MINI QUIZ — RED FLAG OR CREATIVE WRITING?

Be honest. This is a no-judgment comedy zone.

1. They disappear for three days and return with “it’s been crazy.” You call it:
A) Space
B) Spontaneity
C) Independence
D) A pattern

2. Every disagreement becomes dramatic. You tell your friends:
A) We’re passionate
B) It’s complicated
C) The chemistry is intense
D) I’m tired

3. They’re emotionally vague and hard to read. You describe them as:
A) Mysterious
B) Deep
C) Different
D) Avoidant with nice hair

Mostly D?
Congratulations. Your clarity has upgraded.

A QUICK REALITY CHECK (WITH A SMILE)

If you can now laugh at what once stressed you out…that’s not embarrassment.

That’s emotional growth in better lighting.

THE WELL MOMENT 💜

Wisdom:
Growth changes the labels.

Empathy:
Of course, you thought it was chemistry. Confusion can be very convincing.

Laughter:
If you ever called inconsistency “keeping things interesting,”
April Fool’s might owe you a trophy.

Lesson:
The goal isn’t to shame your past self. It’s to appreciate how clearly you see now.

💜PASS IT ON

If this newsletter made you laugh, cringe, or immediately think of one very specific ex…send it to a friend who also deserves a gentle April Fool’s reality check.

Healing is more fun with company.

Closing Thought

Sometimes the best sign of growth is this:

What once felt magnetic now seems mildly ridiculous.

And honestly?

That’s progress worth laughing about.

With love, clarity, and better labels,
