LOUISE’S LOVE LETTER

EDITION 33:

Things That Used to Impress Me 💜

TODAY'S OBSERVATION

One of the strangest things about getting older is realizing that your dating "type" has quietly changed without consulting you.

Hey, Friend

There was a time when I could be impressed by things that now barely register.

A mysterious text?

Intriguing.

A little unpredictability?

Exciting.

A person who revealed personal information in tiny emotional installments?

Apparently fascinating.

Today?

I'm impressed by entirely different things.

Like returning a phone call.

Look at me, evolving.

✨ THIS WEEK ON THE BLOG

Why Peace Feels Better Than Butterflies

This week's post explores what happens when attraction matures—and why the things that once felt exciting sometimes lose their sparkle.

Inside the post:

• the surprising truth about butterflies
• why peace gets more attractive with age
• and how our definition of chemistry quietly changes

💜 A LITTLE LOUISE LOGIC

At some point, reliability becomes hot.

I don't make the rules.

THINGS THAT USED TO IMPRESS ME

Then:

"They're so mysterious."

Now:

"I have questions, and none of them are fun."

Then:

"They keep me guessing."

Now:

"I already did this season."

Then:

"They're impossible to read."

Now:

"That sounds exhausting."

Then:

"The chemistry is intense."

Now:

"How's the communication?"

Growth is humbling.

QUICK QUIZ

WHAT'S ATTRACTIVE NOW?

1. Someone says they'll call and then actually calls.

A) Basic courtesy

B) Green flag

C) Attractive

D) Weirdly attractive

2. After spending time with them, you feel:

A) Calm

B) Happy

C) Relaxed

D) All of the above

3. You don't feel the need to analyze every interaction.

A) Suspicious

B) Unfamiliar

C) Refreshing

D) Is this what peace feels like?

Mostly D?

Welcome.

The attraction has matured.

💜 A QUICK REALITY CHECK (WITH A SMILE)

The older I get, the more attractive emotional stability becomes.

Which is either wisdom...or proof that I've already paid enough emotional tuition.

Honestly, I'm comfortable with either explanation

THE WELL MOMENT

Wisdom:
Not everything exciting is healthy.

Empathy:
Many of us learned to associate uncertainty with attraction.

Laughter:
If "good communicator" now sounds sexier than "mysterious," you're probably healing.

Lesson:
Sometimes growth is simply updating what impresses you.

💥 LOUISE'S TRUTH BOMB

One day you'll realize:

The things that used to give you butterflies...now mostly give you questions.

And that's not settling.

That's wisdom.

PASS IT ON

If this newsletter made you laugh, nod, or quietly reconsider several people from your dating history... send it to a friend whose standards have also received a software update.

💜 CLOSING THOUGHT

One of my favorite signs of growth is this:

You stop chasing the feeling of "What if?"

And start appreciating the feeling of:

"This feels easy."

And honestly?

That's a trade I'm happy to make.

With love, laughter, and dramatically fewer emotional plot twists,

Louise 💜
